Trump Border Security Costs Way Off
He could show a profit

NewsMax -- July 31, 2015
Experts: Trump's Plans for Border Wall, Illegals Will Cost Billions
Presidential candidate Donald Trump has several proposals for securing the nation's borders, but the costs for building a massive wall on the border and deporting undocumented immigrants could come with a multibillion-dollar price tag, experts are warning. [...]
Overall, to build a wall, the total price would be estimated at $20 billion, and Rosenblum said the cost does not include maintaining and staffing the structure.
"I think that it's possible, but it would prove to be extraordinarily expensive," he told CNN. [...]
Deporting the estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants in the United States would also be cost-prohibitive, according to a study by the Center for American Progress that put the price at nearly $300 billion to "find and arrest, detain, legally process and transport the undocumented population over a five-year period."

Trump could do the job and make money
The costs estimates given by open borders people are very far off. For example, Trump could start by finishing much, but not all the 700 mile fence called for in the Secure Fence Act of 2006. He could use the existing fence as one half of the double-layer required by the ACT before Sen. Hutchinson gutted it.
That would cost about $1.6 billion. At the same time he could install the SEIDARM™ system on the entire border. This could be done for about $300 million.
SEIDARM™ would tell us where fences are still needed --- and make all the other hardware such as drones work much better as well.
My guess is that for far less that the $20 billion estimate from open borders people, we could reach a goal of no more than 20,000 illegal aliens get past the US Border Patrol each year.
The total initial investment would be about $4 billion - but that would be paid back in short order by reducing the number of US Border Patrol agents and cutting the cost of illegal aliens who do get it. in fact, if Trump were running this as a business, he could float a bond issue that would be repaid by taxes saved - and the fencing would cost us nothing out of pocket.
As far as deportations are concerned, we should consider my Paid Leave program.
Instead of $300 billion, it would cost about $80 billion to pay people to leave. Such a plan would help rebuild Mexico and Central America - and save California.
And, as with the fence, the cost of paid repatriation would be recovered very quickly.
Donald Trump can do a much better job than I to make such a plan work financially - and he would no doubt make a big profit for America.
