Corrupting the GAO
Subverting the Last Line of Objectivity

Demise of the Denominator Man
At the time of his retirement in 2011, Richard Stana was Director, Homeland Security and Justice Issues at the U.S. Government Accountability Office. We called him the Denominator man because of his demand for an objective measure of border security.
His reported replacement, Kathleen Berrick, once told a 2013 House Committee “We think CBP needs to be the one to define it [operational control] since they're managing the border.
The problem is that Berrick didn't mention that CBP has totally rejected the definition of Operational Control set by Congress in the Secure Fence Act of 2006.
I go into this in detail in my GovSec West paper.
Moreover, I showed that Rebecca Gambler, who was also reported to have taken Stana's job, totally mislead the public by accepting US Border Patrol data on apprehension success rate.
Since 2011, the Obama Administration has deliberately subverted the Government Accountability Office by promoting people who are either totally incompetent, or committed to the idea of open borders.
Few in the public understand this kind of “inside baseball” goings-on, but I do - which is precisely why I am blacked out by the mainstream media.
