GOP discord undercuts efforts to fund DHS
House Republican leaders will face a familiar dilemma this week when they try again to approve funding to keep the Department of Homeland Security functioning through the end of September: They know their party is too divided to resolve the crisis on its own but fear the political fallout if they rely on Democrats to get them out of the jam.
`After a humiliating defeat of their original funding plan Friday afternoon, House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) has just five days to craft a new outline to keep DHS funded or face the politically debilitating prospect of at least temporarily shutting down an agency designed to protect Americans. By late Sunday, Boehner's House Republicans had no clear path to a solution other than retreating from their demands that the DHS funding measure include provisions that would block implementation of President Obama's executive actions on immigration. [...]
McCarthy even suggested that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) should invoke the “nuclear option” to change Senate rules to eliminate filibusters requiring 60 votes to overcome. McConnell has vowed not to make such a move against the Senate's tradition. And while doing so would allow Republicans to get legislation undoing the immigration actions through the Senate, it would then go to Obama for his all-but-certain veto, which they lack the votes to override.

"It is an appropriate term in describing someone as "illegal" if they are in this country illegally."
-- Statement from Santa Barbara News-Press

ABP COMMENT: American Border Patrol has been on the border in Arizona for more than twelve years. We have offered solutions, including the Sonic Barrier, which the state could have implemented, independent of the federal government. State Senator Al Melvin has been the only politicians with the courage to publicly support our effort.

WALLACE: What do you mean by border security --- when no one gets across?
WALKER: Congress has defined Operational Control of the border as the prevention of all unlawful entries. -- We need a metric that tells us how well the Border Patrol is doing in that regard and then set a specific goal to be met before any legislation can be discussed.
WALLACE: Wow, you must have seen Spencer's video.
WALKER: Yes.

ABP Was First -- and Still Best?
Twelve years ago American Border Patrol pioneered the use of drones for border security. -- One week after our Border Hawk was on Lester Holt Live (May 15, 2003). -- DHS Secretary Ridge said: "We are very seriously looking at UAV for both border application and land and sea.” -- Working with a small Arizona company, our idea was to have small UAVs that flew only when ground sensors sent an alarm. -- Now, twelve years later, the DHS drone concept has been discredited, while our system for using drones has grown into full bloom. -- For the $360 million wasted on the Predator drone, our system could have secured the entire Arizona-Mexico border --- forever.

Overblown Threat
With exception of storm drains, tunnels have been found to exit in the U.S. not far from the border in some sort of structure such as a building. Most have been in Nogales, where the border gap is as short as 28 feet. -- Google Earth shows very few such places between El Paso and the Pacific Ocean (don't try to tunnel under the Rio Grande River). DHS should flag every such structure and act accordingly. But, as with everything else DHS does, don't expect such rational thinking when it comes to tunnels.

Tunnel Vision
As this map shows Two tunnels have been found in Naco --- that we know of --- both ending up very close to the border. -- ABP has demonstrated technology that can detect tunnel activity. It is called the Sonic Barrier. It has not been installed.

Time for "Secure Our Border First Act of 2015"

With Obama's amnesty stopped cold, it is likely he will move to flood us with even more illegal aliens.
The issue we can take on and win in the Senate is border accountability. The only real progress that is POSSIBLE is the Secure Our Border First Act of 2015 before the House of Representatives.
If Obama works to flood us with illegal aliens, the public needs to know it immeditately - without the “help” of the mainstream media. HR 399 will do the job.

Genius of Our Founding Fathers

"Government is not reason, it is not eloquence, it is force; like fire, a troublesome servant and a fearful master. Never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action.” ---George Washington
“It is the religion of ignorance that tyranny begins." ---Benjamin Franklin
“It is the duty of the patriot to protect its country from its government." —Thomas Paine
It is times like these that we should bow down our heads and thank God for our Founding Fathers. Their genius has reached forward in time to slap down the kind of tyrant they feared most.

What Good is the DHS to a Dead Nation?
I warned that electing Barack Obama to the presidency would be national suicide. -- If Barack Obama is allowed to proceed with his executive action on amnesty, the sovereignty of the United States of America will be lost. -- What good is the Department of Homeland Security when we have lost our homeland?

We can do a better job on the border
Sen. Johnson is right about the incentives Obama has created. Just look at what happened with his DACA.-- But the same Obama that created DACA, set priorities for border security. -- From the Predator Drones to the Integrated Fixed Towers, technology intended to help secure the border has failed to do the job. -- I invite Sen. Johnson to visit American Border Patrol's ranch to see a better way.

President Johnson's immigration law, coupled with his civil rights bill,
paved the way for illegal immigration from Mexico

Comment by Glenn Spencer
After twenty-three years of watching how Republican leaders deal with illegal immigration, I can say with absolute certainty that Ted Cruz is right about them. Republicans ceded California to Mexico, and they scuttled the last serious attempt to secure our border with Mexico.
When it comes to illegal immigration, Senator Ted Cruz stands head and shoulders above anyone else seeking the presidency. He sees what I see. He gets it.
Americans had better get behind him --- or get the same Republican betrayal we have suffered for decades.

Comment by Glenn Spencer, American Patrol Report
It is beyond belief that U.S. Senators can sit there and watch Barack Obama actually lead a wholesale invasion of our nation - and do nothing! Are they really that stupid? Or, as Terry Anderson said, -- is it that they just "ain't paying attention."

"The House debates the resolution and may at the conclusion consider the resolution as a whole or vote on each article of impeachment individually. A simple majority of those present and voting is required for each article or the resolution as a whole to pass.” [...]
SENATE: “The proceedings unfold in the form of a trial, with each side having the right to call witnesses and perform cross-examinations."

Border Security First
A Dream Follow-On

"First and foremost, you've got to secure that border..."
Fox News -- March 1, 2015
Walker: 'My view has changed' on immigration reform
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, a presumptive 2016 Republican presidential candidate, says he has changed his immigration stance and no longer backs comprehensive reform that would allow illegal immigrants to be penalized but remain in the country.
“My view has changed,” Walker said in a “Fox News Sunday” interview taped Friday. “I'm flat out saying it.”
Walker in 2013 said a plan in which illegal immigrants can become United States citizens by first paying penalties and enduring a waiting period “makes sense.”
However, he is now saying such a plan is tantamount to amnesty, amid criticism that he has flip-flopped on that issue and others -- including right-to-work legislation in his home state.
“I don't believe in amnesty,” said Walker, who finished second Saturday in the Conservative Political Action Conference's straw poll for potential 2016 Republican presidential candidates. “We need to secure the border. We ultimately need to put in place a system that works -- a legal immigration system that works.”
From transcript
WALLACE: The question was, can you envision a world where if these people paid a penalty, that they would have a path to citizenship? And you said, sure, that makes sense.
WALKER: I believe there's a way that you can do that. First and foremost, you've got to secure that border or none of these plans make any sense.

70% of Illegal Immigrants Realeased in U.S.
Fail to Show Up for Hearings

Breitbart -- September 26, 2014
Ignoring the law has consequences
An Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) spokesman has revealed that 70% of illegal immigrants released into the United States this year have failed to subsequently appear at immigration hearings.
The AP repeatedly asked for figures about the number of immigrants released into the United States but each time they asked ICE refused to offer any details. However, ICE held a private meeting with immigration advocates in Washington D.C. Wednesday during which a representative revealed the figures during a discussion. An audio tape of the gathering was then leaked to the AP.
Approximate 60,000 illegal immigrants from Central America have been apprehended at the border this fiscal year. According to the unidentified ICE spokesperson, 860 deportation have been ordered so far but only 14 actual deportations have taken place since May.

ABP COMMENT: Thousands of people who show no respect for our nation's sovereignty by violating our border. Next, they refuse to even show up for a hearing. What next, will they decide which traffic signs they will obey (assuming they can even read them)?

The photos shown here were taken on Dec. 17, 2009 on what is called the Amnesty Trail. Two people, thought to be escorts for drug toting "mules," are seen carrying rifles. Ten days after these photos were taken a U.S. Border Patrol agent was shot - presumably by someone protecting a drug load – not far from where these photos were taken.
American Border Patrol has photos of thousands of border crossers but this is the first time people have been seen carrying weapons.
Violence against Border Patrol agents is up almost 300 percent over last year. This follows a killing spree in Mexico that has claimed more than 10,000 people since 2005.
The drug war in Mexico was precipitated by the construction of new border fencing and barriers, not by Mexican President Calderon's so-called crackdown. Although fence construction has been halted there are new resources being thrown at the problem and this can only make matters worse for the cartels. It may not be long before the rule of not attacking U.S. officers is abandoned and we begin to lose agents. How many must die before the government finally seals the border? How long will politics overrule protection?
