Border Bill to be First on the Agenda
Which vision will prevail?
Glenn Spencer, American Patrol Report -- December 27, 2014
According to Fox News, House leaders have asked Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) to have a border bill ready for action by late January or February.
Last year, McCaul's Homeland Security Committee passed H.R. 1417, The "Border Security Results Act of 2013", "To require the Secretary of Homeland Security to develop a comprehensive strategy to gain and maintain operational control of the international borders of the United States."
Never mind that DHS has totally rejected Congress' definition of operational control of the border, and has long refused to develop a border strategy of any sort. Subcommittee Chairman Miller proved this to be the case, but Chairman McCaul was apparently unaware of her hearings.
This is precisely why I proposed the Border Security Accountability Act of 2014 that would bypass DHS and assign the job of border accountability to a border commission.
If Chairman McCaul continues to insist on going down the DHS border security dead-end, individual border states must take immediate action to protect themselves.
    We should know soon.
